3rd Festival of Astronomy, Ifrane, Morocco will take place from 4 – 7 September 2014. The festival is organised by Al Akhawayn University under the theme ‘Astronomy in Popular Culture’ in partnership with province of Ifrane, the Network of Amateur Astronomers of Morocco ( RAAM ), the program UNAWE-Morocco , the Casablanca Astronomical Association (ACA) and the Association CITI for the promotion of innovative technologies in science education . This activity falls within the scope of efforts of Al Akhawayn University in disseminating scientific knowledge to the general public and promoting science and science among young people to stimulate their interest in science and technology.
The Festival of Astronomy Ifrane is a popular annual scientific event for professionals, amateurs and public. Initiated by Al Akhawyn University, the festival is a platform for entertainment and enrichment, and a discovery of the world.
Public lectures, night sky observation, workshops for youth, events for children, exhibitions, competitions, debates, meetings, exchanges between the public and astronomers are the essence of the event.
In conjunction with the festival, the 3rd edition of the Galileo Teacher Training Program (GTTP) will be held. The workshop will gather 40 teachers and will be trained on practical, hands-on astronomy and space science topics.
