Most of the comets we see are visitors from the past who are making a return journey around the sun. Every once in a while, however, a new comet is born. Comet ISON was one of those rare, pristine comets. Open Discovery Space (ODS) organised a hangout with Dr. Pamela Gay from CosmoQuest to talk about the “Lessons from the Comet ISON’s Journey. What made it special, why everyone thought (wrongly!) that this comet just might be the next bright thing to shine in the sky.
