World Space Week (WSW) is an international celebration of space and its impact on our lives taking place annually from 4-10 October. This year WSW celebrates remote sensing and satellite technology with the theme for 2016; “Remote Sensing: Enabling Our Future.”
Space technology has enabled humanity not only to reach towards the stars but to look upon the Earth from above. Spacecraft have been studying the Earth since the beginning of the space age. From their vantage point in space, satellites are providing us a better understanding of our own planet and revolutionizing our way of living.
Participating in World Space Week is as simple as having some friends over for a movie marathon, or creating an activity for students in the classroom. Your event can be public or private, entirely up to you. More info: http://www.worldspaceweek.org/
