GTTP teacher training session will be held during the 40th COSPAR Scientific Assembly in Moscow, Russia from 2 – 10 August 2014. Currently one of the most prominent scientific meetings in the world, COSPAR Scientific Assemblies were conceived to promote research in astrophysics, astronomy, space science, space biology and medicine, through free and impartial exchange of information and open discussions.
The training session intends to explore tools and repositories that brings real cutting edge science to the hands of educators and their students. The workshop will explore astronomy software, remote observing through robotic telescopes, e-learning repositories, among other hands-on topics.
GTTP encourages teachers to apply for the session “Young Scientist in Classroom” and follow-up discussion session. Registration for teachers is 450 euros. COSPAR has allocated some funds to cover the registration, lodging and visa fee. Deadline for registration is 30 June 2014.

- To request the visa invitation letter, it is necessary to register (partially) on the website. Participants must pre-register for the Assembly on the LOC website by clicking on “registration” and completing the first form. Once a login and password are entered and confirmed, participants will be able to click on “Personal Account” to enter their personal page and select the link to submit the request for the visa invitation letter, reserve accommodation, etc. Queries should be addressed to visa (at) cospar2014moscow.com
