Astronomy Education Alliance Meeting: Deadline Extended!

Due to requests from potential authors, deadline for abstract submission of “Astronomy Education Alliance Meeting” is extended until 7 July 2014. This meeting will showcase and discuss the latest innovative efforts in astronomy education, allowing teachers, educators and outreach professionals to combine efforts and focus astronomy resource production on cross cultural curricula utilizing formal education best practices.

Teacher Training at COSPAR

Funding available for teachers to attend the GTTP session to be held during the 40th COSPAR Scientific Assembly in Moscow, Russia from 2 – 10 August 2014. The training session intends to explore tools and repositories that brings real cutting edge science to the hands of educators and their students. COSPAR has allocated some funds to cover the registration, lodging and visa fee. Deadline for registration is 30 June 2014.

Support GalileoMobile Expedition

Following up with the previous successful expeditions, GalileoMobile is planning their next expedition. The team will visit schools in the Amazons region, Bolivia and Brazil from 21st July to 25th August for a total duration of five weeks to inspire children and young people through Astronomy. As a key collaborator of GalileoMobile, GTTP encourages the network members to support their effort.

ISE Summer School for Teachers

From 13 – 18 of July 2014, “Discover the COSMOS: From Telescopes to Accelerators” summer school for teachers and educators will take place in Greece. Organised by Inspire Science Education (ISE), the summer school will comprise of open science resources, e-science tools in classroom, hands-on activities, and more.

Ellinogermaniki Agogi offers funds to 5 inspiring European teachers to attend the summer school. Deadline to apply for funds: 30 June 2014
